Andrea Marsh MRSS, CSA(P)
Andrea has been a (people) MRSS Shiatsu Practitioner for over 10 years; studying for
3 years at the Shiatsu College, London to get her final diploma in 'Shiatsu & Traditional Oriental Medicine' (Qual. July 2008).

Thereafter she did further studies into how Shiatsu along with musculoskeletal understanding, specifically in pelvic realignment as to how they married for the associated internal issues tobe resolved, with good results. Studied 'The Alexander Barrie System' of Pelvic Correction' (2010). Every year Andrea undertakes Continued Professional Development to maintain her MRSS accreditation.
After working on dogs (and cats!) casually though out this time , and seeing the good results
(if not betterthan in people) on spinal work, she looked into qualifying in Canine Shiatsu
specifically, incorporating Canine Anatomy & Physiology, Dog behaviour and body language
and the transference of the Chinese Meridian System to Canine Anatomy (Qual. Aug 2015). She now finds that dogs tend to be more suited to receiving Acupressure point work (like Acupuncture, but without the needles) from the Traditional Chinese Medicine modal along with the Five Element Theory when Anxieties are involved.

Further to this, Andrea went and studied Fundamentals I in Dog Psychology & Energetics
(Nov 2015) to understand how a dog views the world and how to interpret this in to giving
a Shiatsu that is of the most benefit to your canine friend. In 2017 Andrea is embarking on 'The Trust Technique' by James French, this is particularly beneficial as Andrea is seeing more dogs now that have anxiety issues alongside physical issues. Andrea does some voluntary work at the Cheltenham Animal Shelter with anxious dogs.
Canine Shiatsu will be a new therapy to most, but Equine Shiatsu is fully established and respected within the horse arena. Andrea, as the only qualified CSA(P) in the West Country region, she hopes to bring awareness and make Canine Shiatsu a known 'go to' treatment to aid your dog's health and wellbeing. As part of this she is aiming to get articles published in magazines and online.
